Josie Maran Cosmetics Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Review

A few months ago I did a little splurging on Sephora USA’s website and one of the items in my cart was the Josie Maran Cosmetics Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid ($45 USD). The promise of a radiant, dimensional finish was enough to make me buy this, sight unseen.

This foundation contains a synergistic blend of 100 percent pure argan oil, blueberry extract as well as a cocktail of moisture-enhancing ingredients to help keep your skin happy. Read on to see how if Josie Maran Cosmetics Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid is worth $45!

Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Review

Josie Maran Cosmetics Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Review

Josie Maran Cosmetics Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation

Packaging
One of the first things that attracted me to this product was its gorgeous packaging. The foundation is packaged in a glass bottle with rainbow swirls around it. The rainbow vibrant colours suit the name of the foundation perfectly.

Formula
This product is described as a medium-to-full coverage skin care foundation fluid powered by 100 percent pure argan oil and nutrient-rich pigments for vibrant, glowing skin. First layer yields medium coverage while the second layer gives a nice full coverage. The glow from the foundation is amazing. It makes my skin look so healthy and fresh! 🙂 It’s also formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates which is always a bonus. There is a slight floral scent so please keep that in mind if you are sensitive to smell.

Colour
After watching numerous Youtube videos, I decided that the lightest shade, Dynamic RG5 for fair skin tones with neutral undertones would suit me best. There are a total of 14 different shades with different undertones, I’m sure there will be a shade for everyone. It matched perfectly the moment I applied it on my face but after 15 minutes or so, it oxidized to shade darker. Boo. I would advise going to the store and testing the foundation on your neck first. Walk around Sephora for 20 minutes and see if colour still matches you after 20 minutes.

Longevity
Sadly, this foundation is transferable and it comes off when I accidentally touch my face. This foundation started to wear off after 7 hours but only around the nose area. I make sure to set my face when I use this as it will not last two hours in Singapore’s hot and humid weather.

Josie Maran Cosmetics Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid Review

Overall
My verdict is mixed on this. I think it’s a great foundation itself but I dislike how it oxidizes and would not stay on my face. I think it’s a foundation that is better suited for cold climates, aka not a hot and humid country, like mine. If you love glowing skin, and want to your foundation to give you a radiance, this product is right for you. If you have oily skin, avoid this product at all costs.

Product was purchased from Sephora USA. This review contains my honest and true opinions.

Photo Diary: Star Awards 2017

16th April 2017 was one of the most memorable days in my life. This is not an exaggeration! When I was younger, I always imagined myself on stage during the Star Awards. I would stand there holding my award and proceed to say “I would like to thank my parents, my fans…” Sadly, Singapore ain’t Hollywood so my dream never materialized.

But that very day, I got to tell this story to these four actors, in which Romeo, Felicia and Elvin said “SO CUTE” simultaneously. I had to pinch myself to remind myself that I wasn’t dreaming. To all my overseas friends, the Star Awards is something like the Emmys, Singapore version. Before the Star Awards, I attended a cozy meet and greet in which I met Romeo Tan, Carrie Wong, Felicia Chin and Elvin Ng. They are local actors here in Singapore, with years of acting experience under their belt. I practically grew up watching Elvin Ng and Felicia Chin. 🙂

We had an ice breaker game, charades, with the celebrities. After the game, Romeo immediately said “any bloggers here?” I literally froze. A million thoughts raced across my mind, but the main one was, “is he going to kick me out?” So I sheepishly raised my hand and to my surprise, Romeo turned to Carrie and said, “I had a feeling she’s a blogger. She has a blogger look.”

I blinked and thought, “is this real life?!?” A celebrity just said I had a blogger look. Wow. I was on cloud nine for the rest of the day. 😛 I didn’t share more about my blog with the celebs because time was of the essence and there was a Q&A session with them as well.

Now, enjoy the photos from the Star Awards 2017. Considering that I was seated in the circle seats, my camera managed to capture the actors quite clearly. 🙂

Since I was going to an award show, I took the chance to doll up (because I’m vain like that HAHA). I wanted to put falsies and go all out with my eye makeup but I was rushing for time so I couldn’t do a super elaborate eyeshadow look. However, I did manage to find the time to pop by Crescendo Hairdressing to get a blowout. LOVE IT. I felt like I stepped out a magazine ad. Before the awards show, I hung out with these two lovely ladies, Elizabeth and Faith. We had a great time doing photoshoots outside Mediacorp and at the Style by Style Vibes Cafe.

Elizabeth Arden – New Products 2017!

Elizabeth Arden new products 2017
Today, we’re talking about a brand that brings to mind the words “classic” and “timeless”. It’s none other than Elizabeth Arden. The brand has been around for years but I have noticed that in the recent years, they have been attracting the younger crowd! Fun fact: The president of Elizabeth Arden, Ms JuE Wong, is actually a Singaporean! Wow, it’s encouraging to see a Singaporean at the helm of such renowned brand like EA. I was thrilled when the lovely people at Elizabeth Arden Singapore invited me to their press event at Fairmont Singapore where I had a delicious lunch. The day was made even more special when I had the opportunity to have a quick chat with on of the veterans of the social media influencer scene in Singapore, Tricia Ong. 🙂 Tricia is so beautiful and friendly in real life! I spent the past one month plus testing out the goodies from the PR package. Here are my thoughts!

Elizabeth Arden eyeshadow trio review

Elizabeth Arden Eyeshadow Trios 2017

Elizabeth Arden Eyeshadow Trios review

Eyeshadow Trios

I was most excited for the new eyeshadow trios. I love how you can mix and match which two trios you want to include in your palette! In my press kit, I received You Had Me At Merlot and Not So Nude together with the little black compact with a mirror. Do note that the casing costs $8 so the total for a palette would be $41 SGD. With 10 trios to choose from, there is definitely shades for everyone! Mix and match to your heart’s content! I’d recommend Not So Nude to someone starting out with makeup and just wants shades that are wearable for everyday. 🙂 I haven’t noticed a lot of fallout with the eyeshadows, which is a plus in my book. Usually, with such shimmery shades there would be a lot of fall out.

Elizabeth Arden Lasting Impression Mascara

Lasting Impression Mascara

The Lasting Impression Mascara promises to deliver exceptional length, separation, and definition. It did lengthen my lashes and give them definition. However, the wand was quite tricky to use and there was a bit of a learning curve. Those who are seeking full & voluminous lashes might be left a bit disappointed as this mascara is not a volumizing mascara. I have the mascara in the shade Lasting Brown which is a nice dark brown shade that goes well with my natural black lashes.

Statement Brow Defining Gel

Elizabeth Arden Statement Brow Defining Gel

Statement Brow Defining Gel

The formula is buildable so you can build it up for a really full brow or a subtle, natural look, whatever floats your boat. 😉 Some brows gels give you a crispy feeling, but that’s not the case for this. It gives some fullness without being clumpy. I use the shade Honey 02 which is a nice light taupe shade. I’m fond of using taupe and more cool-toned browns for my brows to match my black hair.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum Review

Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum

Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum

When it comes to their base products, I’m sure you’ve heard of their Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum. I admit, I don’t really need anti-ageing products at the moment as they can be quite strong. I love how the serum comes in the form of a capsule; so each time you use a capsule, it’s just the right amount for your entire face and neck! Having dry skin means that I have to layer moisturizing products and this serum is perfect to wear underneath my moisturizer at night. I usually don’t wear serums in the day but you may use this during the day as well. I know I said I don’t use anti-ageing products, but why not keep my skin as youthful as possible, for as long as I can? 😉 It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly into the skin and makes my skin feel so supple after that. My only gripe is that it is a teeny bit greasy. This is a single-use product so once open, please use it all.

Elizabeth Arden White Tea Review

White Tea Eau de Toilette Spray

The first time I smelled this, I literally gasped. It smells so divine. The fresh and feminine scent of White Tea makes it perfect for everyday wear. With notes of Sea Breeze Accord, White Tea Vapors, White Iris, Madras Wood, this EDT is beautiful mix of florals and musks, making it a real joy to wear. Like a flower on a beautiful spring day, this EDT is an excellent option for anyone with a penchant for fresh scents. It’s the kind of fragrance you put on and immediately feel more energized, ready to prance around in a garden full of flowers and maybe get swept of your feet by Prince Charming.

Overall: I’m very impressed by the quality of these products. I have been reaching for the eyeshadows as well as the White Tea EDT all month! 🙂 They are my absolute favourites out of everything. Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

277 Series Singapore

Work has been piling up lately so I apologize for the lack of posts. As always, you can find me on Instagram Stories if you want to know what goes on in my daily life. 😉 A few weeks ago, I had the chance to preview a new skincare line called 277 Series, developed by a team of doctors from South Bridge Aesthetics Clinic and Knightsbridge Clinic.

277 Series is a brand that is backed by science, and created to suit the hot and humid Singapore climate. Products are made in South Korea, USA or Japan. During the event, we had the chance to talk to the doctors and ask them questions. I found myself surrounded by passionate doctors, who wanted to create products that are of good quality and value to help every individual, be it guy or girl, achieve their dream skin. Shout out to Dr Winston Lee and Dr Jason Pek who were super friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

To easily identify the products, each range has been colour coded.

277 Series South Bridge Aesthetics Clinic

Blue: This range is for normal skintypes. What stood out the most from this range would be the Ultra Light Moisturizer ($95 SGD), made of gingseng, ginkgo, rosemary and glycoproteins, coupled with aloe vera, chamomile and lavendar. Aloe vera is said to help with calming the skin so I can definitely see this working on even the most sensitive skin types. 🙂

Green: Those with trouble skin or acne prone skin, this range is your saviour! The DoubleX Essence ($100 SGD) contains Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid meant to help with the exfoliation of skin and reduce the appearance of acne, blackheads, whiteheads and nasty sun spots. I didn’t test any of these products as my skin is dry like the Sahara desert so this range did not appeal to me.

Purple: Anti ageing and anti pigmentation range. In my opinion, the star of this range would be the Eye Bright Serum ($300 SGD). This contains proprietary Peptide blends (Matrixyl, Haloxyl and Eyeliss) with Biotin, Biotinyl Peptide Tripeptide-1, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 and Grape Stem Cell. Ok I will be honest here, I had no idea what those ingredients were until I Googled them and found that they are ingredients to increase in lash length when the peptide is used in eyelash serums. Personally, I wouldn’t put eye serums literally on my eyelashes. Just dab a small size amount around your eye area and you are good to go!

Yellow: The Yellow bottles were the sun protection range. I was immediately intrigued by the SPF 50 Sun Protect Ultra Lite ($95 SGD). The lightweight fluid texture makes it ideal for wear with makeup. There is a tinted version as well, which is great for those who want something quick and don’t wish to apply makeup on after that. Do remember to remove your sunscreen properly at night, with micellar water or makeup remover to ensure that your pores won’t be clogged.

The most talked about product would definitely be the Vit C Intense ($280 SGD) which contains small capsules that contain a serum packed with a cocktail of ingredients to give your skin a nice glow. It absorbed into the skin quickly, leaving my skin smooth like a baby.

277 series

One of the highlights of the event would be the models who forgot to button their PJs. They were nice enough to pose for a picture and do what they do best – look handsome.

277 Series media event

I would recommend 277 Series to anyone looking to improve their skin or are sick of buying and trying products that don’t work. This is indeed a pricey brand but premium products always come at a cost. 🙂 Let’s think of it this way, if you invest in your skin now, you won’t have to worry too much in the future.

277 Series is available at Skin Concierge at 279 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058826.

July, what a month it has been so far. It has been a stressful month, so what does Regina do when she’s stressed? SHOP. I mean, it’s called retail therapy for a reason right?! HAHA. So today I want to share with you what I hauled. I placed an order on Althea Korea and my package arrived in no time.

Without further ado, here is what I hauled!

A’Pieu X Rilakkuma Air Fit Cushion Blusher
A’Pieu X Rilakkuma Air Fit Cushion Blusher

I was most excited for the A’Pieu X Rilakkuma Air Fit Cushion Blusher in VL01 ($15 SGD). Housed in a special, limited edition Rilakkuma case, the packaging of this collection was a winner for me. Too cute. 🙂 I have it in a violet shade, not the easiest to wear, but great for fair skintones.

Pony Effect Outfit Lipstick review

Pony Effect Outfit Lipstick

PONY needs no introduction with her jaw dropping makeup transformation videos. I have never tried anything from her line before so I’m very excited to give her lipstick a try! The PONY Effect Outfit Lipstick in Play Ground ($31 SGD) is reasonably priced at $31. As I type this, I have not tried the lipstick yet as I can’t bear to ruin it! Is anyone else like me or perhaps I’m the hoarder here…

MILKY DRESS Barbie Make Color Pop Tint

MILKY DRESS Barbie Make Color Pop Tint

Upon initial application, the MILKY DRESS Barbie Make Color Pop Tint in Flower Pink ($15 SGD) was too thick and didn’t sit well on the lips. The trick to wearing this is to blot after applying. Overall, I’m a fan!

Missha Rolling Heart Ball Blusher review

Missha Rolling Heart Ball Blusher

I was low key hoping the Missha Rolling Heart Ball Blusher in Pink Meringue ($33 SGD) would be a dupe for Guerlain’s meteorites blush but I think it doesn’t come close at all. For one, the hearts were smaller than expected and one of them was broken when my package arrived. 🙁 I have yet to try this so fingers crossed I will like it.

Klara Cosmetics – Now Available in Singapore

Klara pro eyeshadow palette

Klara Cosmetics is a very popular brand over in Australia so Singaporeans like me are in for a treat now that they have launched in Singapore! The brand is now available at SaSa as well as online! Read on to hear my take on this brand, straight from the land of Kangaroos.

Klara Pro Eyeshadow Palette ($28.90 SGD) in No. 2 is for every girl who loves her warm tones. This palette is filled with browns, reds, oranges, which reminds me of autumn (and a cheaper version of Urban Decay’s Naked Heat). Unfortunately, I find those colors hard to pull off on my eyes/skin tone so warm tones usually would not normally appeal to me. That said, as a beauty junkie, I endeavor to experiment and constantly challenge myself to use colours I would never use in a million years.

Klara Cosmetics Pro Palette Singapore

Klara Cosmetics Pro Palette Swatches

Swatches were done with 2-3 swipes and over an eyeshadow primer.

If you’re scared of reds like me, try keeping the intense color below your crease. The reddish pink shade is surprisingly easy to use. It was sheer so I did not have to worry about overdoing the eyeshadow. The third shade from the left was rather sheer and it took many swipes for me to build the pigmentation, aka why the swatch looks like a mess. I prefer the shimmer shades as they seem to glide on smoother.

For a more intense look, you need to go back in the palette a few times to build it up. There is no doubt that you can create a variety of makeup looks with this palette — a neutral day look or a smokey look for a night’s out. I can’t wait to play around more with this palette!

Klara Kiss Proof Liquid Matte Lipstick

The liquid lipsticks applied smoothly and set almost immediately. Once they dry down, they will not budge so you can eat, drink, kiss, whatever, without worrying about transfer. However, it emphasized my lip lines and it did not look good at all. I have naturally dry lips so my lips tend flake and often require constant reapplication of lip balm. Hence, the liquid lipstick may not emphasize your lip lines as much as me.

Klara Mini Kiss Proof Lips in Vixen Plum is a mini sized liquid lipstick, which is a great way to try the product without buying the full size. The purple colur is a bit cray for everyday wear but perfect for those days when the eyes are simple and you want all attention to be on the lips. 😉

Kiss Proof Liquid Matte Lipstick in Sienna Nude 07 is a brownish pink and it is perfect everyday colour!

Kiss Proof Liquid Matte Lipstick in Totally Nude 15 is a a pale pink-mauve that resembles Kylie Jenner’s Candy K. So if you’re in the market for a dupe, this might be up your alley. I didn’t test this colour on my lips because I would resemble a corpse with this shade. I passed it on to my friend and she experienced long wear time, lasting through her meals. She didn’t find it tacky or uncomfortable to wear at all. Overall, we both liked the Kiss Proof Liquid Matte Lipstick and very much love the pleasant vanilla scent. My dear readers, please definitely do consider checking them out if you want luscious looking lips that stay the entire day.

Topaz Diamond 01 is an interesting formula. It has diamond like iridescent particles which are literally bling on your lips. Wear this the next time you’ve a night’s out with your girlfriends and trust me, everyone will be asking what you have on your lips. How do I know? The first day I wore this, my colleague immediately remarked my lips, saying the colour was very unique. And yes, I wore it to work because who cares if it’s inappropriate for day. 😛

Did anything catch you eye? Share with me in the comments!

Get Porcelain Fair Skin with Neutrogena’s Fine Fairness Range!

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Singapore

In Singapore, it seems like it’s every girl’s dream to get porcelain fair skin, akin to the likes of Park Shin Hye and Song Hye Kyo. Well, ladies, Neutrogena’s Fine Fairness Range is here to help you achieve your dream skin. Given that I have fair skin due to genetics, I wanted to see if this would make my skin fairer or help whiten my dreaded freckles. Without further ado, here are my thoughts on the Fine Fairness Range which I have been testing the entire month of August.

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cleanser

Fine Fairness Cleanser

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cleanser ($12.90 SGD) is said to be a purifying cleanser with Vitamin C and Essential Soy extract that is clinically proven to help improve overall fairness and translucence. I love this cleanser. My skin doesn’t end up feeling tight and dry – which is a problem I face with most cleansers.

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner ($17.90 SGD) is housed in a 150ml bottle. I’ll be straight up honest guys – I don’t use toners in my everyday routine. I’m probably breaking the 10 Commandments of Beauty but who cares! Toners and my skin do not get along well. They leave my skin dry. I did test this toner on my face a few times and I found that it has a light consistency and absorbed into the skin very quickly. Worth noting that the floral scent still lingers after the product has been absorbed.

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Gel Cream

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Gel Cream

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Gel Cream ($28.90 SGD) is a gel cream made with Phyto-lily extract which is scientifically proven to detect and lighten pigmentation and helps prevent future melanin production. On immediate application, my face does appear to be a little brighter but the moisturizer sinks into the skin almost immediately. I feel that this gel cream is not rich enough for my dry skin and within about 2-3 hours of application, my skin starts to feel dry. 🙁 Definitely more suited for oily/normal skin types.

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Light Mask

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Light Mask

The Fine Fairness Light Mask ($119.90 SGD) looks so complicated but it’s actually very easy to use! Put it on like a pair of sunglasses and turn it on by pushing the button of the activator. Unfortunately, I have light sensitivity which means I’ve intolerance of light such as sunlight and fluorescent light. My light sensitivity coupled with my extremely sensitive and thin skin left me deliberating for days if I should test out the mask. Eventually, as much as I wanted to use this mask, I did not. Nevertheless, here is how you would use the mask:

1) Remove all makeup and dry your face.
2) Slip on the mask and activate it by pressing the button on the Activator.
3) Relax for 10 minutes until the mask is turned off automatically.

The mask is made up of red light and infrared light. The visible red light inhibits environmentally-induced excess pigmentation, thus improving skin tone resulting in even, radiant results. On the other hand, the invisible infrared light is made up of longer, invisible wavelengths of light that permeate even deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, thereby increasing cell plumpness and luminosity.

According to Neutrogena, there is zero UVA/UVB rays emitted so you can be assured that it’s just safe red and infrared light. Here’s a photo of me wearing the mask… please excuse the oversized bathrobe and awkward hands. I was busy that day so to be honest, ain’t nobody has time to take 100 pictures before finally getting the “perfect shot”.

Mask

Light was not switched on due to light sensitivity

Overall: I think Neutrogena has nailed the head with a range of whitening products that are not too expensive and caters to the everyday women needs. Although the Fine Fairness Light Mask is pricey, it is a gadget after all. You get what you pay for. 😉 Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

The Neutrogena Fine Fairness Light Mask will be available exclusively online at $119.90 SGD (includes one Mask and a 30 session Activator) from August 2017 onwards at Guardian.com.sg, Lazada.sg, Qoo10.sg, Redmart.com, and Watsons.com.sg. Head to the various participating online retailers for more information.

YSL Mon Paris Eau de Parfum Review

$

Notes: Strawberry, Raspberry, Bergamot, Calone, Pear, Orange Flower, Jasmin Sambac, White Peony, Datura, Patchouli, White Musk, Ambrox, Cedarwood, Crystal Moss.

The first time I took a whiff of this YSL Mon Paris ($92 USD / 50ml), it was love at first… scent. The strawberries instantly drew me in. There are no words to describe how much I love this fragrance. It is admittedly, a very modern, contemporary and youthful scent, which serves as a more easy-to-like counterpart to Black Opium. If this perfume were a girl, it would be someone who was bubbly and vivacious; never a dull moment with her. Mon Paris is my first fragrance from the brand and it took me 3 months before I finally took the plunge to buy it. It is the most expensive perfumes I have ever bought. 😛 Read on to find out why I think this is the perfect perfume for any outfit and any occasion.

Mon Paris opens up with a wave of effervescent strawberries and raspberries. As it dries down, the base is all about the creamy white musks and patchouli. The perfume relies quite heavily on the sturdy bed of musks to prevent this fragrance from becoming overwhelmingly sweet. However, the richer aspects of this fragrance could have been further accentuated or explored to make for something altogether more textured and contrasting. If that were the case the whole thing would feel less ‘candied’ and more like a luxury product. With all that being said, Mon Paris is still nicely put together and lasts for long hours.

As with all things YSL, the bottle is beautifully designed, with a black ribbon as a finishing touch. It will stand out on your dresser and make you feel like a million dollars every time you spray it. Très chic!

Fans of fruity scents are guaranteed to love Mon Paris but I think it is charming enough to transcend genres. It is, after all, a rather beautiful perfume from an elegant brand, and I can see that it would perhaps win over those who don’t think they like fruity scents. Somehow, it is a delicious scent without being cloying and puts all the other fruity gourmands on the market to shame. Mon Paris may be pricey but it is totally worth it.

Mon Paris is available in 30ml, 50ml and 90ml Eau de Parfum, prices range from $112-229 SGD. Available now at TANGS and wherever YSL cosmetics are sold.

Plush Up Lip Gelato swatches

Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelato

What lipstick has a buttery texture with a hint of sheen, smells really good and has a variety of colors to choose from? It’s none other than Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelato ($35 SGD)! The Plush Up Lip Gelatos come housed in sleek black packaging with a unique opening mechanism. To open the tube, you will need to slide up the cap. It took me a while to figure out how to open them. HAHA.
Plush Up Lip Gelato
Plush Up Lip Gelato: - Elizabeth Arden Singapore
Upon first swatch and application to the lips, the lipstick delivers a sheer wash of colour. If you are used to liquid lipsticks, you may find that these are really sheer. However, I’m not one who wears bold, pigmented lipsticks on a daily basis so these are great for days when I want to pull off the “no makeup” look. With an extremely soft and easy-to-apply formulation, the Plush Up Lip Gelatos are indeed very hydrating and creamy. There is a slight tingly sensation, due to the plumping effects of this lipstick.

Plush Up Lip Gelato Elizabeth Arden Singapore
L-R: 15, 02, 06, 05

If you’re wondering, yes, my lips do look slightly fuller looking, so these are great if you’ve thin lips. 🙂 I’m a fan of darker colors so I was super excited to try Strawberry Sorbet and Flirty Fuchshia. Strawberry Sorbet is a bright warm-toned pink while Flirty Fushchia is a cool-toned fushchia shade. My only gripe is that the lipsticks fade throughout the day and don’t exactly have the longest staying power. Also note that it’s not necessary to wear a balm under them, as that would make them slide around.

The Plush Up Lip Gelatos are available in 22 colours, ranging from nudes, pinks and berry shades. Definitely worth checking out.

Plump Up Lip Liner

Plump Up Lip Liner

If you are applying one of the deeper or brighter Lip Gelato shades, I would recommend pairing it with the Plump Up Lip Liner just so that the edges don’t smudge and feather.

The Plump Up Lip Liner ($28 SGD) come in 10 different shades and best of all, they are waterproof! I love how they glide on so easily due to the creamy texture. With this lip liner, I can apply it in the morning and not think about it until I take off my makeup at night.

L-R: Kiss Of Coral 03, Vintage Pink 04, Fuchsia Burst 06, Crimson 08

All in all, I’m pretty darned impressed by the lipsticks and lip liners. They do everything they claim to do and they come in a wide variety of shades. Have you gotten yours today? 😉

There’s a new limited edition collection from Elizabeth Arden that just launched recently and the packaging is absolutely delightful. This collection is worth checking out — especially if you’re a long time fan of Elizabeth Arden’s iconic Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Elizabeth Arden Around the World Eight Hour limited edition collection

The Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant ($41 SGD) comes packaged in an adorable tube with colourful illustrations of the Statue of Liberty, the Roman Colosseum and more!

I feel that this is not an ideal product to use during extremely hot and humid days, here in Singapore. However, my friend, Clarabel is a flight attendant and she loves using this on dry skin whenever she’s overseas. I can see this being a staple for me on during my travels to countries with a drier climate since this product has various multi purpose uses! It can be used for the brows, scrapes, minor abrasions, chapped lips, dry hands, cuticles and more! Whenever I’m a cold climate, the air can get especially dry and my arms and legs tend to get a little itchy when skin is dry. This will definitely come in handy during those situations.

If you’re sensitive to fragrances, do note that this has a slightly medical scent to it. It’s hard to describe but it’s not floral nor is it sweet. The smell of it reminds me of a sterile environment, like say, a clinic. But then again, this cream was created in an era where science was slowly intertwining with beauty to create skincare formulations based on research and tests. So if you’re wondering, this cream was created in 1930 by none other than Elizabeth Arden herself.

I digress a bit but did you know that in the 1910s, ladies (and the general public) were not so educated back then so they actually used cosmetics, butter, milk, and toothpaste filled with radium because they believed that radium was beneficial to health. Shocking right? I read the BuzzFeed article and literally had chills down my spine reading about the side effects of radium.

Eight Hour Take Off & Touch Down Limited Edition Lip Duo

This Eight Hour Take Off & Touch Down Limited Edition Lip Duo ($34 SGD) contains the new Eight Hour Lip Scrub and Eight Hour Lip Protectant. Both of them come packaged with the cute illustrations as well. 🙂 Start with the lip scrub to exfoliate your lips before applying the lip protectant. The lip protectant provides immediate relief for dry lips and does a great job to help improve texture and look of the lips. I highly recommend it!

Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist

Whenever I travel on those long-haul flights (22 hours to New York help), my skin becomes very dry and needs an extra hydration boost. The Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist comes in a TSA approved 100ml plastic bottle that could easily fit in your hand carry. I use this after I have cleansed my face at night. As it contains a blend of antioxidants and vitamins, I prefer to spray this onto clean skin, instead of over makeup to ensure the ingredients get absorbed into the skin. The mist is very fine so it doesn’t feel like you are drenching your face each time you spray. Thankfully, there isn’t any strong perfumey scent to this, just a light floral scent that dissipates within seconds.

Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil

This Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil contains Tsubaki Oil which I really love! I use this on my hair after a shower to eliminate frizz and flyaways and also on my elbows and knees if they are dry. The oil absorbs fast so it doesn’t leave behind a thick layer on the skin. If you have frizzy hair like me, this will work to tame those baby hairs! You can also use the Miracle Oil for the face as well. I recommend spraying the oil first onto your hands before pressing it gently into the skin. If oils are your thing, you should definitely give this a go.

Overall, Elizabeth Arden never disappoints. It was my first time trying the Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist yet it has already made its way to the forefront of my new favourite skincare products – I’m truly impressed.
